Book Test

For this idea I used an intervalometer, with the camera taking an image every 10 seconds. In this time I was able to move a book slightly and get out of the way.

In post I converted these images to a frame animation, and revealed the base image of me in the centre with mask effects.

Book v2

In this version I used a better lit shelf and an LED panel. I also allowed for more more frames per book to make the movement smoother.

In post I edited and converted the raw files to JPEG before creating the animation to make them easier to work with, and then masked all but the base layer, revealing only the areas of movement in each frame.

This meant I could use a higher resolution but still have a GIF nearly half the size of my previous attempt.

Pages

For this cinemagraph I converted the video frames to photoshop layers and removed the background with a layer mask. Revealing a seperate still underneath.

Car at Night

This particular GIF is one of the largest I've made since the light off the car affects most of the image, the only masked areas are the figure and the sky.

Walking

Like the book, this cinemagraph was made with video frames converted to layers, with a background made from a composite of stills.
